EDGEWOOD DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

DATE: Friday, May 24th, 2019

LUNCH: Today’s cookout menu:  Grilled Hamburger, Baked Beans, Carrots, Doritos, Choice of Fruit, and Milk. No ala carte items will be sold.

Locker Cleanout will be held during SRT today. All trash is to be removed from lockers and placed in nearby trash cans.  


Any 7th grade student interested in running Cross Country next fall, see Miss Nelson to pick up summer running information.


Edgewood’s attendance competition continues. At the end of day 3 the 7th grade was ahead of the 8th graders.  The 7th grade had 4% of students absent this week while the 8th grade had 6% absent.


Attention any 7th grader in periods 2, 4, and 6 - if you still need to work on your Historical Twin project you may come to Mrs. Fisher's or Mr. Halferty's room during any class period today to work if your teacher gives you permission.


We will follow a special schedule today. This morning is the Awards’ Programs. The 7th grade program will begin at 7:45am. The 8th grade program will begin at 9:35a. Bells will be turned off during the program. Teachers, please check the awards program and be ready in the order listed to present your awards.  We expect students to be on their best behaviour today. Parents will be attending the programs today. This afternoon students will have outside activities.

Awards Program

The end of year awards programs will be hosted in the gym on Friday, May 24.  The 7th grade awards program will be from 7:45 a.m. - 9:25 a.m. The 8th grade program will run from 9:35 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Unfortunately, not every student will receive an award, but we do our best to recognize as many students as possible.  Parents and family members are welcome to join us at the awards program.

ID CARDS Each student must wear a clearly visible student photo identification card on a break-away lanyard each day at Edgewood Middle School. Replacements will cost $4.00 for an ID and $1.00 for a lanyard. Unpaid ID’s will result in school consequences.


APPOINTMENTS Please send a note to school with your student if you are picking your student up early. The student is to bring the note to the office before school begins for a pass to come to the office before your arrival time. After the appointment, please bring in the slip from a medical appointment for your student’s files.

LUNCH: Today’s menu choices are Breaded Chicken Leg with Biscuit, Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, or Ham & Cheese Croissant, Stuffing, Baked Potato, peppers & Tomatoes,  Choice of Fruit, and Milk. This Friday is our end of year awards programs.  The 7th grade awards program will be from 7:45a - 9:25a.  The 8th grade program will run from 9:35a - 11:15a. Incoming 9th grader girls interested in playing WCHS Soccer are welcome to come to an informational meeting with their parents on Thursday, May 23rd at 5:00p in the bleachers of the varsity soccer field.  

Today is Day 3 of Edgewood’s attendance competition!  The ultimate prize is ice cream with toppings at the end of the day on Friday, May 24th.

The last Game Club of the year will be held on Thursday after school until 4:00p.

All current 8th graders who want to play football next year are invited to Tiger Football “Frosh 50” night from 5:30-7:00p today.  Come to the high school S building behind the home bleachers at Fisher Field in “The Rev” classroom.  Learn about the high school football program, meet our coaching staff, see our facilities and eat some free pizza.

Any new 7th grade National Junior Honor Society member that has not attended one of the required meetings yet, remember the last one is offered today after school until 3:00p. See Mrs. Fisher with questions.

Students are to begin taking items home from their locker. During SRT on Thursday, students will clean out their lockers. We are looking for overdue library books and class calculators are missing.

Attention NEW 7th grade members of National Junior Honor Society.  Mrs. Fisher needs to meet with you briefly to go over the expectations for membership in NJHS in more detail.  You must attend ONE of these 20 minute meetings in Mrs. Fisher's room: this morning’s meeting or Wednesday at 7:00a, or Tuesday or Wednesday at 2:45p.  You are required to attend one of these meetings or contact Mrs. Fisher. This is only for the new 7th grade members.

Best wishes to our Choir members in tonight’s performance at 7:00p in the Edgewood commons.

This morning we will have iPad collection.  Students will be called to the commons throughout the morning.  7th grade students will be called first after morning announcements.  Mr. Kline’s students will need to keep their ipad and not turn it in until after class.

Incoming 9th grader girls interested in playing WCHS Soccer are welcome to come to an informational meeting with their parents on Thursday, May 23rd at 5:00p in the bleachers of tihe varsity soccer field.

Today is JA-in-a-Day for seventh grade students.  We will follow our normal Monday bell schedule today with a change of assignments at lunch time. All 8th graders will eat first lunch today. 7th graders will eat second lunch shift after Jr Achievement is finished.

We are having an attendance competition for students and staff next week!  Plan to be here everyday!! The winning grade gets ice cream with toppings at the end of the day on Friday, May 24th during the party.

Tickets will be drawn for the raffle drawing today. Be sure to place your tickets in your favorite jars before second period to have a chance for a prize. Edgewood Cares thanks all those that participated donating prizes and purchasing tickets to help local Warsaw charities.  

Don’t forget to bring your Overdue Books  to the library as soon as possible.
