Students in Honors Language Arts are using stick puppets to act out a summary of each scene of Shakespeare's play, King Lear, then uploading them to the app Flipgrid, which allows all students to watch each scene to review the events.
Students in Mr. Fleming's class learned how the rock cycle works with the use of a variety of chocolates. First they "weathered" their chocolate by crunching and smashing it to bits and pieces. Then they layered the assorted smashed up chocolates on foil. Once the foil was wrapped, they compressed it, then opened it. Sedimentary rocks. The students rewrapped the foil and alternated heating and compressing the package, then opened it to see the difference. Metamorphic rocks. Finally, they rewrapped the foil and heated the package for a minute on each side. They had to wait for a while so the package could cool off. The result was a melted mess, or igneus rocks.
