Edgewood football parents and players,

Hope you all have had a great summer!  The start of school is right around the corner as is the upcoming football season.  We as a staff have been working closely with the high school staff to learn the system we will be running though out all levels in the Warsaw football program.  We will be following the guidelines that have been given to us to a T.  This will be invaluable to our players and your sons as they move up through the Warsaw Tiger football program.  The middle school teams will be a mirror image of the high school team.  This will make everything second nature to them as they progress through the Warsaw football program.  We are excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your sons to make Warsaw football something special.  We have attached the practice and game schedule for the upcoming season.  If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact either one of  us at any time.  We look forward to meeting you soon.  GO TIGERS!!!

Thank you

David Cook 7th grade head football coach (

Jason Nolin 8th grade head football coach (

In social studies, Mrs. Fisher's students analyzed a series of posters called "Hungry Planet" to discover similarities and differences in diet among typical families around the world.  There were some interesting discoveries such as the family from Germany spends on average the most money per week but the family from Chad spent the least due to being in a refugee camp.  The United States on average eats the highest amount of calories and Chad has the lowest, Japan has be best life expectancy and Chad has the lowest. One family has two wives, two families have servants, and one family is mainly adults with only one child.  Foods really vary with guinea pig being common in Ecuador and seafood common in Japan whereas there's no meat on the table with the family in India.  There were many other unique things we learned and discussed with our final question being a debate on which family had the best overall diet based on the picture.  We couldn't come to a conclusion but we agreed that the food pictured for the families in Guatemala and India looked the most healthy.

Students had the opportunity to spend lunch with the librarians from Edgewood and the public library!  Thanks to Anna Jackson for joining Mrs. Eberhardt!  Students learned about the public library's summer reading program, enjoyed yummy brownies provided by the librarians, created music with the Makey Makey electronic device, and made music themed crafts.  For more information about the summer reading program, including a link to sign up online, visit their website at Warsaw Community Public Library
