The Edgewood Library hosted our first Starbooks of the school year last Thursday.  Anna Jackson, Librarian at Warsaw Community Public Library, joined Mrs. Eberhardt and Mrs. Scroggs for a fun-filled pirate themed afternoon!  We heard about action and adventure books, ate pirate themed food, and played lots of fun and silly games.  We are looking forward to our next Starbooks, Skype with an Author, on Wednesday October 14.  Students are requested to read the book Shadow on the Mountain before we skype with the author, Margi Preus.

Miss Lampen, EL teacher, and Mrs. Eberhardt, teacher librarian, worked together to teach our EL classes about plagiarism.  Students laughed as Miss Lampen claimed the drawing she held was her work, while Jacob said he had created that drawing!  Miss Lampen would be stealing the drawing if she called it her own.  Plagiarism is stealing someone else's words or drawings.  We ask permission to use things, and we cite our sources to give others credit for their work.
