Edgewood students competed at the ISSMA Organizational Contest held at Knox Middle School in Knox, Indiana. They performed 3 selections that were evaluated by a panel of 3 judges.  During our performance, the judges make written as well as verbal comments, critiquing the band on 9 major musical areas of importance.  All of these areas are then broken down into 4-5 very detailed areas to be evaluated.  As a band, you get a very complete evaluation of your strengths and areas to grow.

I am very excited to tell you that the Edgewood Band students received a GOLD Rating from all 3 Judges!

The judges comments, parent comments, and the plaque they earned were appreciated, but the hard work and determination from the students is what I will remember from this group in preparing for contest.

Eighth grade literature students went to the Holocaust museum in Skokie, Illinois.  In addition to touring the museum, they also had the chance to listen to Holocaust survivor Ida Paluch as she told her story and the story of her twin brother Adam.  Many thanks to the teachers and our principals for making this field trip possible!
