Announcements

  • Aleks Help

Monday through Thursday the ALEKS lab is open for extra help and time to spend on ALEKS. The lab is open after school until 3:30pm with a member of the Edgewood Math Team present to assist you.
  • DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENTS

If a doctor's appointment occurs during the school day, a parent note should be brought to the office before school begins.  A pass will be provided to the student to leave class before the appointment time so class will not be interrupted by an announcement.
  • ID POLICY

Students need to wear their ID's on a daily basis.  If they do not have an ID, they must report it to the office BEFORE 2nd period.  Students who have not reported their missing ID before 2nd period will be assigned an after-school detention.  Students will be issued a new ID and charged $5 to cover the processing fee.
  • ASK ROSE

Homework help in math and science is just a free phone call away. Rose-Hulman students have copies of our textbooks and will guide students to solutions with homework. They are available Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. The phone number to call is 1-877-ASK-ROSE (1-877-275-7673).
  • Cafeteria Account Balances

Please check your account balances in PowerSchool regularly.  IT is posted in the upper righthand corner of the page after you login.  All account balances need to be kept current.  Only 3 charges are allowed per student.  Please prepay for lunches to avoid any issues with your account.

Welcome to Edgewood Middle School!

ISTEP Super Heroes

Warsaw Community Schools is requesting parents/guardians to register their students for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year using the new and more convenient WCS online system. Parents will be able to register their children when it is convenient for them to do so. The system will be open 24 hours a day and accessible through the PowerSchool portal, a system already used by many parents. Parents will be able to register all of their children from one location with internet access. No registration is scheduled at the school in August.

Spread the word…many schools will have evening hours for parents/guardians that need computer access.
Edgewood will be open on Tuesday evenings until 6:30pm for registration.

The Buy One Get One Free Bookfair will begin Monday, May 14. The fair will be open during school hours all week, and during Edgewood’s Best, Tuesday May 22. Come in and stock up on great summer reading! The website link to the fair is http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/cptoolkit/homepage.do?method=homepage&url=edgewoodmiddleschool

The judges were scoring the bands on musical criteria that included: Intonation, Tone Quality, Articulation, Note Accuracy, Rhythmic accuracy, Musicianship, Dynamics, Balance and Blend, and Other Factors. All three judges awarded both Edgewood Bands a Gold rating. The Intermediate Band is under the direction of Tammy Sprunger and the Advanced Band is under the direction of Joseph Peloza. Water for Africa

http://www.mycharitywater.org/EMS

Mrs. Fisher’s 7th grade social studies class has been working in the library studying current issues in Africa.  Mrs. Akers, our school nurse, presented information on clean drinking water.  She has set up a donation site at Charity Water.  Parents and community members are welcome to help contribute and raise money for wells to provide clean drinking water in Africa.  $20.00 provides clean water for one person.  $5000 provides a well for an entire village!  Let’s all work together to help others!  Ask any of Mrs. Fisher’s students for more information.
